Create Your Own Story, Be your Authentic Self
It's easy to lose sight of our authentic selves and instead become defined by our commitments, needs, responsibilities, expectations and often by what life dictates.
As a result, we find ourselves always wanting because we always have a feeling of lacking.
In 1998 my Mother gave me a book called Simple Abundance: A Day Book of Comfort and Joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach. This book was one of the key influences that set me on the journey to eventually develop this site.
In my opinion, Ms. Breathnach successfully demonstrates how to live an authentic life and she explains what it means to be your authentic self, while meeting daily commitments. She shares her own struggles and doubts and the way in which she incorporates appreciation and mindfulness into her daily life.
The book takes the reader through 365 days of simple abundance to get in touch with our authentic selves -- it offers daily inspiration!
Another great source, which I've recently found, for becoming who you were meant to be and finding your true purpose is "You are a Bad Ass" by Jenn Sincero. If you are offended by curse (swear) words, you may be offended by parts of this book. But give it a chance, and you will see there is practical advice and clear suggestions for living to your fullest greatness!
